FMC Privacy Policy & Data Use Notice
Version 2.4 — Last updated 18/10/2026 · UK GDPR & EU GDPR.
This policy explains in plain language how Fashion Models Collective (“FMC”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares personal data on our website and in the FMC app, and what choices you have. It covers members (models, creators, talent), businesses, venues, agencies, partners, visitors and people who join our newsletter. Privacy contact: rsvp@fashionmodelscollective.com.
Quick summary
- We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers. FMC shows no advertising, and the app and website have no advertising partners, no advertising identifiers and no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We use your data to run your membership: your profile, applications and bookings, payments, notifications, the membership card, venue check-ins and the features you choose to use (Olivia, FMC Connect, the Gallery, the Collective newsletter).
- Olivia, the FMC assistant, is an AI service. If you use it, your messages are sent to Anthropic to write the answer (section 4). You are asked first.
- Card details never reach us: they are entered on Stripe’s pages (section 11).
- You can delete your account yourself in the app. We then delete your login and personal data and keep only the financial records we are legally required to keep, without your identity (section 15).
- FMC is for people aged 18 and over.
1. Who we are
FMC is the data controller for personal data processed as described in this policy. FMC operates a members’ collective that connects models, influencers, creators, agencies, brands, merchants and venues.
Controller: Fashion Models Collective
Registered address: 53 Chelsea Manor Street, London, SW3 5RZ, United Kingdom
Privacy contact: rsvp@fashionmodelscollective.com
Data Protection Officer: a DPO is not currently appointed; privacy matters are handled by the contact above. FMC will appoint a DPO if and when required by law.
Where FMC uses service providers (hosting, email and push delivery, payments, the AI service), they act on FMC’s instructions.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Name, username, date of birth or age confirmation, gender, pronouns
- Contact details: email, phone, postal address
- Social media handles and linked sign-in or platform accounts
- Professional category, skills, agency affiliation, bio and tags
- Profile measurements for model profiles (for example height, bust, waist, hips, shoe size, hair), where you add them
- Profile photos, portfolio images and videos, deliverables, documents you upload
- Rates, availability and booking preferences
- Applications, messages with brands and with FMC, reports, reviews and feedback
- For businesses and venues: company details, venue address and opening information, deals and vouchers
2.2 Information from your use of the app and website
- Bookings, campaign applications, credits and rewards, venue check-ins and vouchers
- Your tier and FMC Score, which we calculate from your activity (for example check-ins and campaign work) to unlock rewards and access; they are not used for advertising
- Connect, Gallery, timeline and review activity if you use those features (sections 7 and 8)
- Anonymous app usage statistics (section 5) and website pageviews (section 6)
- Technical data needed to run the service: IP address, device type and operating system, app version, language, error and crash information, and security logs
2.3 Information from sign-in and payment providers
If you sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook, we receive the name and email address you allow that provider to share (an Apple private-relay address if you choose to hide your email). Stripe tells us the status of your payment or payout account, and the brand and last four digits of a saved card, but not the full card number.
2.4 What we do not collect
We do not collect advertising identifiers, we do not read your contacts, and we do not collect your location in the background.
3. How we use your information and our legal bases
- Providing your membership and the service (account, profile, applications, bookings, messages, payments and payouts, membership card, rewards): contract.
- Keeping the community safe (reviewing reports, removing content, fraud prevention, security logs): legitimate interests and legal obligation.
- Running and improving the app and website (usage statistics, diagnosing errors): legitimate interests.
- Service messages (approval, booking, payment and security emails and notifications): contract. Optional notifications and newsletters: consent.
- Olivia: your agreement in the app (section 4).
- Cookies that are not strictly necessary: your consent (section 6).
- Accounting, tax and legal requirements: legal obligation.
Where we rely on legitimate interests we have weighed them against your rights, and you may object at any time (section 16). Some checks, such as fraud detection or a suspension after serious reports, can involve automated tools; where an automated decision has a significant effect on you, you may ask for a person to review it by emailing rsvp@fashionmodelscollective.com.
4. Olivia, the FMC AI assistant
Olivia is an AI assistant powered by an artificial-intelligence model provided by Anthropic. Her answers are written by AI, can be wrong, and are not professional, legal or financial advice.
- Asking first. In the app we ask for your agreement before your first message to Olivia. Nothing is sent to the AI service before you agree.
- What is sent. Your message and the earlier messages of that chat are sent securely to Anthropic so it can write the reply. If you are signed in and ask about your own account, the account details needed to answer (for example your applications, bookings, credits or earnings) are also sent. Please do not type passwords, card numbers or other very sensitive information.
- Credit rewards. When you ask to redeem a credit reward, the request and your credit activity may be checked by the same AI model. The confirmation screen says so before anything is sent.
- What we keep. FMC keeps a record of what Olivia looked up and did, to run, support and improve the service. We do not use your chats to advertise to you. For signed-in members the conversation is kept in your account so it is there next time, for up to the retention period (365 days by default); you can delete it at any time in the chat box, and it is erased with your account.
- Anthropic. Anthropic processes this data to provide the reply for FMC and is based in the United States (see section 14).
5. App usage statistics
When you use the FMC app we count, without your name or any content, that the app was opened, which screen was shown (for example “Member card”, never what is on it), which main feature was used, the app version and build, the version of your phone’s system and whether it is a phone or a tablet. We link these counts to your FMC account number only so that we can count how many different people use the app, and to your account type (for example talent or business). We do not collect your name, email, messages, location, contacts, advertising identifier or device identifier in these statistics. The app also makes a random code on your phone and sends only a scrambled form of it, which we use to tell two installs apart; it cannot be traced to you and is removed when you delete the app.
This is first-party only: no advertising or analytics company receives it. We keep it for up to 400 days and then delete it. You can switch it off at any time in the app under Settings, “Share anonymous usage statistics”. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app.
6. Cookies and the website
The website uses cookies and similar technologies in four groups, which you can choose between in the cookie banner: strictly necessary (always on: sign-in, security, remembering your cookie choice), functional, analytics and marketing. You can change your choice by clearing the FMC cookies in your browser, which shows the banner again.
- Analytics. FMC counts website pageviews in its own database. If you accept analytics cookies, FMC may set a first-party cookie (fmc_vid, up to two years) to tell a returning visitor from a new one. If you do not accept, the page is still counted, but without any visitor identifier. No third-party analytics company receives this information.
- Advertising and social tracking tags. At the time of this update the website does not load Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, advertising pixels or social-media tracking tags. FMC’s website software can load such tags, but only after you accept the matching category in the cookie banner, and before any is switched on this policy will be updated to name it.
- The app contains no advertising or analytics software from other companies and does no tracking across other companies’ apps and websites.
7. FMC Connect (member chat)
FMC Connect lets members find each other, send connection requests and chat. It is optional. You are not shown to other members until you switch on “Let other members find me” in your Connect settings, and you can switch it off again at any time.
- What we store. Your Connect settings, connection requests and connections, the people you have blocked, the chats you are in, the messages you send (text, pictures or short videos) with the time sent, and reports made by you or about you.
- What others see. Someone who finds you sees your name (first name and the first letter of your surname unless you choose to show your full name), profile picture, city and country, account type, categories if you are talent, and how many connections you share. They do not see your email, phone number, address, FMC ID, age, social media handles or biography. Only people you have accepted can write to you.
- Who at FMC can read messages. Nobody reads private chats as a matter of course. If a message is reported, FMC staff can see it, up to ten messages before and after it, and any picture or video in it, to decide what to do. A copy of a reported message is kept even if it is later deleted.
- How long we keep messages. By default 24 months, then they are deleted. In each chat the people in it can choose that new messages disappear after a time they pick (for example 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or 90 days); those messages are then deleted from our systems, not just hidden.
- Deleting a message. If you delete a message you sent, it is removed for everyone in the chat straight away, with its pictures and videos (“delete for everyone”). Others may already have copied it or taken a screenshot, and a phone alert that was already delivered cannot be recalled.
- Pictures and videos are stored privately and can only be opened by people in that chat. Location and camera details are removed from pictures before they are stored. We do not scan chats automatically; we rely on reports.
- Blocking and reporting. You can report a message, a member or a chat, and block a member. See the Terms & Conditions for how FMC acts on reports.
8. Gallery, timeline and reviews
- Gallery. A members-only place where people who were at an FMC event can add photos and videos from it. It is never shown on the public website or in search engines. Before adding anything you confirm that you took it or have the right to share it and that the people in it are fine with it being shared with FMC members; we keep the date and time of that confirmation. Nothing is visible to other members until FMC staff have reviewed and approved it. Photos are re-saved by our system and camera details and location data are removed. Anyone shown in a photo or video can use “Remove me from this”, which hides it at once, and you can report any photo or video. You can delete what you added at any time.
- Timeline posts. If posts and comments are switched on for you, they are reviewed or can be removed by FMC staff, and can be reported.
- Venue reviews. Reviews you write are held for approval by FMC before they show, and are hidden automatically if they receive several reports.
9. Location
If you allow it, the app uses your precise location only while the app is open: to check you in at an event or venue when a check-in asks for it, and to show where you are on the venue map. If private hire is ever switched on, a driver’s and rider’s positions are used for pickup and trips. We never collect your location in the background, and you can turn location permission off in your phone’s settings; the app still works without it.
9.1 Deals near you
If you choose “Tell me about deals near me” in Settings, a venue close to you can send you one of its deals as a notification. We check every message before it is sent, and you will receive at most three a week, never between 22:00 and 08:00 UK time.
To know who is close, we use one of two things. If you also choose “Use my location when I open the app”, the FMC app tells us a rough position when you open it: we turn it into the centre of an area of about 2 km by 2 km and keep only that, together with the time. We never store, log or share your exact position, and the app does not track you in the background. We keep the rough area for 24 hours and then delete it, we keep no history of where you have been, and we delete it at once if you switch the setting off. If you do not allow live location, we use the city in your profile Location.
Venues never see who you are or where you are. We tell a venue only roughly how many members are in range (for example “about 10”, or “fewer than 5”) and, afterwards, how many members were told, opened the message and booked. Our team sees the exact number in range for a send, but not a list of members or places.
Our legal basis is your consent. Both settings are off until you turn them on. You can turn either off at any time in Settings or in the app; deleting your account deletes everything described here. We use Google to turn the centre of an area into a place name and to find the centre of a city; we do not send Google your exact position. Notifications travel through Apple and Google notification services.
9.2 Counting how busy areas are
If you choose both “Tell me about deals near me” and “Use my location when I open the app”, we also count, once an hour, how many members who agreed had the FMC app open in each area of about 2 km by 2 km. We store only the hour, the area and the number. We do not store who you are, we keep no history of where you have been, and the count cannot be used to follow you.
We use these counts to help venues understand roughly when members are near them, and to help FMC understand where members are. A venue only sees rounded numbers for the area around its own venue, and never a number below five. We keep the counts for up to 13 months and then delete them. If you switch either setting off, you are no longer counted from that moment. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings or in the app.
10. Push notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your phone and send notifications about your account, bookings, messages and opportunities, through Apple’s and Google’s push services. Notifications are optional: switch them off in your phone’s settings or in the app. In Connect you can choose whether notifications show message text.
11. Payments
Payments between brands, FMC and talent, and payouts, are handled by Stripe, a payment provider that is independent of FMC for the card and bank details it collects. Card details are typed on Stripe’s own pages and stay with Stripe; FMC keeps only the brand and last four digits of a saved card, booking amounts, payout and invoice records, and your payout account status. Stripe may ask you for identity and bank details to pay you; see Stripe’s privacy policy. The app has no in-app purchases.
12. The Collective newsletter
You receive the Collective by email only if you ask for it. Signing up uses double opt-in: you tick the consent box, we send a confirmation email, and you are subscribed only when you click the link in it. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe from the page that link opens at any time. To show that consent was given, we keep the date and time of your sign-up and confirmation, and a scrambled (hashed) form of the IP address and browser used; we do not store the raw IP address for this. Open and click counts are used to understand which issues are read.
13. Who we share data with
- Other FMC members and partners, as you use the service: profile information to brands, agencies and venues for applications and bookings; Connect, Gallery and review content as described above.
- Stripe — payments and payouts.
- Anthropic — only the content of your Olivia chats and, for signed-in members who ask about their account, the account details needed for the answer (section 4).
- Apple, Google and Facebook — only if you choose to sign in with them, and Apple and Google to deliver push notifications.
- Hosting, email delivery and similar service providers — to store data and send emails and notifications for us.
- Professional advisers, regulators, courts and law enforcement — where the law requires it or to protect rights and safety.
- A buyer or successor — if FMC’s business is ever sold or merged, under the same protection.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We have no advertising or tracking partners, and no data is shared with data brokers.
14. International data transfers
Some providers (for example Anthropic and Stripe) process data outside the UK or EEA, including in the United States. Where this happens we rely on an appropriate safeguard: UK adequacy regulations, the UK IDTA or addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful safeguard. You may ask for information about the safeguards at rsvp@fashionmodelscollective.com.
15. Keeping your data and deleting your account
Deleting your account. You can delete your account yourself in the app under Settings, “Delete my account”, or on the website under Settings in your dashboard. Before anything is deleted you see what will be erased, what is kept and why. When you confirm, we end your sessions, delete your login, and erase or anonymise your personal data: your name, contact details, address, photos and files, bio, social handles, push tokens, messages and the other content you added. We cannot delete an account while money for it is still in progress (for example a booking that is paid but not yet released, or a refund that is not finished), or while you are the only person in charge of a company that other people work for; the app and the website tell you why and what to do. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to remove FMC from your Sign in with Apple connections. You can also ask us by email to delete your data.
What we keep. We keep only the booking, payment, invoice and ledger records that the law requires us to keep (in the UK, normally six years), without your name or identity, shown as “Deleted member”. Deletion does not purge backups at once; they are overwritten on FMC’s normal backup cycle.
Other retention. Connect messages are kept for 24 months by default (section 7); anonymous app usage statistics up to 400 days (section 5); the copy of a reported picture or video is kept for a limited time after the report is closed; newsletter consent records are kept for as long as the subscription lasts plus a short evidence period; accounts that stay open keep their data while they are open.
16. Your rights, contact and complaints
Under UK and EU GDPR you have the rights to be informed; of access (a copy of your data); to rectification; to erasure; to restrict processing; to object (including to processing based on our legitimate interests); to data portability; to withdraw consent at any time; and in relation to automated decisions. Many of these you can do yourself in the app (edit your profile, switch off usage statistics, switch off Connect findability, delete your account). For anything else write to rsvp@fashionmodelscollective.com. We reply within one calendar month (extendable for complex requests) and may need to check your identity.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or to your own EU supervisory authority.
17. Security
FMC uses technical and organisational measures such as access controls, role-based permissions, encryption in transit, secure development and logging. No system is completely secure; if a breach has to be notified, we will tell the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours and affected people as the law requires.
18. Children
FMC is for people aged 18 and over. Membership requires you to confirm that you are 18 or over, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18 we will suspend the account and delete the data as appropriate. If you think a child has joined, please contact rsvp@fashionmodelscollective.com.
19. Third-party links
FMC may link to external sites, social platforms, payment pages and partner tools, which have their own privacy policies. FMC is not responsible for their data practices.
20. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the product, law or operations. The version and “Last updated” date at the top will change, and we will tell members about material changes that affect their rights.
